VEG Revolution: 21-Day Plant Forward Challenge

November is National Vegan Month and NU Dining will be promoting the VEG Revolution by launching the second annual 21-Day Plant Forward Challenge.

Here are the things that you need to know about the challenge:

1. The 21-Day Plant Forward Challenge starts Mon, Nov. 4 and ends Nov. 24.

Sign this pledge to eat one plant-forward meal (beginner), two meals (intermediate) or three meals (advanced) a day (from Rooted or other stations). The Challenge is inspirational and encourages you to try some new plant proteins: tofu, lentils, tempeh, seitan, beans, vegetable combos, veggie burgers.

2. What is Plant-Forward Eating?

A diet focused on plant proteins, that eliminates animal protein (meat and fish) and animal by-products (milk, cheese, eggs or yogurt); called “vegan”.

3. Are there prizes?

Are you kidding?! Of course! You will receive a 21-day Plant Forward e-recipe booklet and other goodies (stickers, buttons, veggie tattoos), with a chance to win a gift certificate to the Blind Faith Café.

4. Why participate?

Plant-based meals are more popular than ever. They taste delicious and can benefit your health, the planet’s health (helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions) and the welfare of animals. If you make plant-based meals at home, you’ll find they also benefit your pocketbook.

At the same time, please look for tabling events in all of the dining commons starting next week. Have fun!
