Smoothie Bike Helps "Pedal" Nutrition Month




As a kick-off for National Nutrition Month, we are leading with the theme of “Find your Flavor.” We challenge you to Find Your Flavor all month through different fruits, vegetables, and spices.


Look for Smoothie Bike events around Northwestern’s campus like the one featured at Hinman Dining Commons.


Students pedaled up fruit smoothies with berries, melons, spinach, kale, and microgreens for a sweet and spicy blend. The recipe is easy and never fails:


Wildcat Very Berry Fruit smoothie recipe:

1 – 2 cups fruit (fresh or frozen berries or any other fruit)

1 banana

1 cup greens (spinach, kale), add microgreens for a kick

1 cup of ice water or diluted cranberry or grape juice (optional)

Mix in a blender and enjoy! Feel free to vary the ingredients.
